Dubai's Desert Safari

Not many pictures that I took during the ride came out great - as you can well imagine, I'm just glad that my camera and me came back in one piece.

After the thrill ride through the dunes, we were taken over to a camp site with more fun in store. We got to ride the camels, have henna applied, dressed in the local garb for another photo opp, smoked hukkas and ate local cuisine while watching cultural performances that included the famed belly dancing.

Comment: I'm glad you had a great time. I think I went on the same tour when I was in Dubai. Did you guys get to stop and drink camel milk? Yuck. We also went sandboarding at the camp just before we ate dinner. It was so much fun, and the food was so delicious. It's been over three years since I went to Dubai and went on the tour out in the desert, and I still have sand trapped in my camera. It's my permanent reminder of what a great time I had.

Comment: Thanks Robin, it was a lot of fun and very scary initially. A little ways into the drive we got used to it. Dave, we stayed in Old Dubai for a couple of days on our way back to India.
